Improve your concentration.
Learn how to be totally focused.
Control nerves in competition.
Develop a powerful pre-shot mental routine.

We've all experienced it – a missed target because of a momentary lapse in concentration. How can you control this, giving you the winning edge? This mental training course is the most successful in clay shooting sports, based on the results of clients…

You can now learn how to control your brainwaves to ensure you have peak levels of concentration just when you need it. You are in control. You will learn a wide range of techniques, specific to your needs, to get to the optimal state of mind for each target. You will be learning from Henry Hopking, the coach who has trained more Olympic, World, European and National champions than any other mental coach.

2 Olympic Gold Medals
6 World Championship titles
8 European Championship titles
16 National titles

“Henry, I really appreciate everything you've done for me and the level of care you have. You are an awesome person and thank you for being a part of my National Championship!!”

“Henry helped me develop a powerful pre-shot mental routine. He has been like a dependable friend looking after my mental game. I learnt how to control my mental states for strong focus and concentration, regardless of the pressure.”

- Gebben Miles. USA National Champion 2009

Trap / Skeet Shooting

  • …do you know which state of mind you should be in while the others in the squad are shooting?
  • Do you know what you should be doing five seconds before you call for the target?
  • And what should you do in the 0.5 seconds before you call "Pull"?

There is a gear-shift of mental activity which you will learn to shift between. This will ensure you are not wasting mental energy when you are not shooting, you will have two techniques so you will not get nervous or distracted and importantly you will hit a peak of mental concentration just as you call for the target.

Glenn Eller

“Henry Hopking gave me all the skills I needed to control my concentration helping me to win this Gold Medal."

Sporting / FITASC

In the Sporting or FITASC disciplines,

  • …do you know exactly how you should use your brain when you have an opportunity to see and plan for the traget presentation?
  • Do you know what is the best thing to be doing between layouts or stands?
  • How can you re-set yourself from a distraction, such as a series of "no-birds" or a noisey squad member and not get frustrated?

Glenn Eller

“Henry’s brain training has helped my mind to be less cluttered when shooting, keeping me in a more peaceful, focused state of mind. I have also noticed that while shooting my vision is now quicker and my body works as it was engineered to work.”

- Wendell Cherry

Did you know that there is one mental level needed for the brain to plan the shot and another for when you see the target? Get this right and your shooting will feel effortless. Get it wrong and you will be over planning and mentally distracted.

Course overview

During your training course you will have your brainwaves analysed so you can understand what your mental strengths and weaknesses are.

On the first day of the course, using Henry's unique Brainwave Conditioning System™, you will quickly learn how to control your mental states on demand. For instance how to increase the amplitude of your concentration brainwave or how to increase the amplitude of your relaxation level of brainwaves.

On the second day of the course, which is out shooting, Henry will work with you to develop a powerful mental routine customized for you, using the brainwave techniques you started to learn on day 1.

There are a variety of techniques which you might use, depending on your brainwave profile. These are used at times of:

  • pre-shot routine, in the five seconds before calling for the target.
  • Pre-stand routine – what to do in the few minutes before walking onto your stand / layout
  • Competition management – what to do and when, to ensure you are mentally at your peak when you shoot.

You will then be given a brain training regime to follow for the following weeks. You will also have a specific mental routine for the 48 hours leading up to a tournament, so you can be sure that you will be in peak mental condition when you shoot. After this training you will have no doubt about what you should be doing in any situation when shooting.

Brain Buddy

You will be provided with your own Brain Buddy equipment. This is a powerful training aid which will help you continue your training after the course. It is totally portable, so you can take it with you when travelling to competitions.

“I had previously been able to access a state of focus and concentration, but had lost the ability. Henry’s mental training taught me in a clear concise manner how to get back to that state of focus and concentration every time I shoot.”

- Andy Duffy

Each of us are different, which means that a training system for one person may not be suitable for another. This is why your training course with Henry will be private – no groups, no mass produced system – but a tailored training course and techniques to suit your brainwave activity.

The "Peak Performance for Sport" course with Henry is over two days and is customised for your discipline in shooting. Private training courses with Henry start at $2,000. If you would like to discuss this training and ask about available dates, please send an email.

“Henry’s brainwave training raises the bar for athletic performance. If athletes are to remain competitive they will need to learn this knowledge.”
